My perspective on Moldova is positive, but I have no intention of visiting due to broader governmental issues, including corruption. Little has changed in its cities since 1991, supporting my overall argument: excessive or mismanaged government spending fails to address underlying problems, whether in military or civic sectors.

The core argument is that excessive military spending can destabilize and even bankrupt nations, as illustrated by the Soviet Union in 1991. Like the United States, the Soviet Union allocated substantial resources to military offense and defense, ultimately contributing to its downfall.

The United States presently spends nearly $1 trillion on its military an amount I view as both wasteful and counterproductive. Despite such immense expenditure and participation in ten major wars since World War II, all of which ended in losses, the evidence shows that excessive military budgets do not secure the intended outcomes.
