I have taken five math courses with Gen Z students at Lone Star College CyFair and have noticed that they struggle academically. In my experience, many cannot pass unless the teacher reviews the test material.
I have Gen Z students who earned an ‘A’ in Calculus I but dropped in Calculus II because they struggled with the tests, despite our review sessions.
I believe an AI-based system is necessary to teach technical skills to these students, and that collaborative projects may help them improve their civic and social skills.
Additionally, many struggle to manage their emotions and may become upset very quickly.
