We used 162 gallons of water so far today, highlighting how small changes can make a difference in water conservation.
1. Shower, 44 Gallons
2. Cleaning the rear pond and filling it with fresh water, 100 gallons
3. Washing clothes and using the toilet, 18 gallons.
A simple tankless water heater can provide hot water for showers, offering energy efficiency and a continuous supply, which can be a significant upgrade.
I do not have a system to show how much hot water was used during the shower. If I assume 50% of the water during the shower was hot, then we use 22 gallons of hot water.
If you buy a tankless, please test it for the first time: turn on the shower hot water, run the washing machine, run the dishwasher, and turn off the shower hot water after 10 or 15 minutes. This helps ensure it handles your household load smoothly, giving you peace of mind.
