Twelve months after the disaster, at a meeting in a church in an affluent part of Houston, hundreds of white residents demanded the mayor send the “Katrina illegal immigrants” back to Louisiana, Texas Monthly reported.
The people of Louisiana should never be allowed to come to Texas on the first place but the people of Texas and Texas government Rick Perry should help them to rebuild the houses and cities. By coming to Houston, the population of Houston has been increased by 17.5%. Most of them have decided to stay in Houston.
NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 16, 2005 — — New Orleans police say they have never seen so much peace and quiet on the city’s streets.
“We haven’t seen a robbery since the beginning of August,” said Lt. Troy Savage, who patrols what was once the city’s most violent neighborhood.
“We’re probably at this point, one of the safest communities in the United States,” he said.
