I had trouble communicating with Generation Z students and my precalculus teacher, Luis David Molina, during Summer I 2025. These experiences made me think about how I connect with others in class.
I am going back to school as Olis 2.0, focusing on personal growth rather than competition. While it can be challenging to relate to Generation Z, I want to adapt, learn, and improve myself in this new stage.
To better navigate these dynamics, I plan to communicate with teachers and students exclusively in writing, such as via email, going forward.
I will not ask questions or correct the teacher. If someone greets me, I will reply. Otherwise, I will remain quiet, as I am accustomed to doing. If asked a question, I will raise my hand and answer.
Even though things are changing, I will miss my Statistics Summer-II 2025 teacher, who was always kind. Still, I accept this change and wish him well in the future. I say goodbye to him.
It is not easy for me to share this story, as I believe that the differences between age groups in early education may be causing problems now. I believe that seeing and addressing these differences can help me grow as a person.
I do not plan to return to Lone Star College Cy-Fair and am exploring other schools. I take responsibility for past problems and want to understand what caused them, focusing on improving myself instead of blaming others.
I think Generation Z students and workers in the United States may struggle to compete with individuals from other countries, particularly those from China. Still, I believe they will do well in the long run.
