Many high schools offer students the opportunity to take AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC. While AB covers a semester of college-level calculus and BC covers two, I have tested students who passed these exams yet could not answer basic questions, raising concerns about the depth of understanding.
I included a flowchart outlining the basic mathematics required in engineering and computer science. Mastering these topics and answering related questions quickly is crucial to a solid understanding of mathematics.
It is possible to learn advanced mathematics independently, but taking formal classes in basic subjects is necessary for strong test and homework performance.
I do not recommend online courses for mathematics and science. We use online platforms for social connections or shopping, but education is a distinct experience. While I have nothing against online learning in general, I do not support it for schools.
